Pretty Girl - Leanne Smith

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am very excited to present to you my very first blog post, as I decided to enter my very first scrapbooking challenge. As I am a huge fan of DA chippies and products. I decided to enter their Dusty Attic January challenge. This was a huge challenge for me, as I hardly had anything that was gold in my stash. I used the main colours of the mood board, but I was also inspired by the beautiful teal colour that was ever so subtly present.

The picture that I have chosen, is a picture of my daughter taken a couple of years back, going to her grade six leaver's dinner. She is wearing a very pretty teal coloured dress, with the sun shining on her hair, reflecting her natural gold highlights and is holding onto a delicate white rose. I thought this was a very appropriate photo to use. I actually coloured the DA frame trying to capture the darkness and lightness of her hair.

Firstly I did some stenciling using a DA stencil Damask #2 with DA texture paste. I then randomly stamped with a 49 market stamp, using brilliance galaxy gold. The DA chippies used were, Vintage frame #4, Marrakesh trellis small and Mini tabs #3 black. These were dressed with distress ink walnut stain, metallic wax bronze age, nuvo mousse indian gold, liquid pearls gold pearl, gesso and DA dress my craft sparkling dust. Oh how I just love sparkling dust, gives such a pretty finish. The beautiful flowers used are 49 and market. A close up of the chippies used.

Below is a close up of the waxes used on the chippie frame.

Above is a close up of the sparkling dust used on the title pretty girl. The photo does not show the prettiness and sparkle that the sparkling dust gives to the title.

  Until next time, happy scrapping.
