"Life is Beautiful" by Leanne Smith

Hi everyone, here is a layout I have created using the wonderful iCraft papers. I have used a photograph taken of myself a few years back at my eldest son's wedding.

To create my LO I used several pages from the paper collection pack titled, In the Name of Love, and paper from Serene shades paper collection pack. I layered my paper ripping the edges to give a worn effect. I then adhered some lace beading from my stash as the necklace I was wearing was beaded. I also used several different papers from In the name of Love papers to back my photo.

I fussy cut some flowers from the left over papers that I had torn my strips from and adhered these around the flowers that I had used from my stash. The wooden embellishments that I used in my flower cluster were firstly painted using iCraft heavy white gesso, then embossed with embossing powder glitter noir.

I applied Artists 3D texture shaping gel with a spatula unevenly on the wooden scroll. I wanted to try and create the colours of my dress. So to achieve this I simply mixed together iCraft  chalk paint in Radical Raspberry and Rose Debut. I applied this with my finger in places on the scroll, using the same technique, I then added  iCraft paint Lights out.  This colour is amazing. I loved how the colours turned out together and matched really well with the colours of the dress I was wearing. I wanted to keep my LO simple, so to finish off I did some stamping using a script stamp with archival ink watering can then added a title from the paper pack Bloom de Fleur.

Hope you enjoy my LO.

Until next time, happy scrapping.

"Altered Bucket" by Leanne Smith

Hi everyone, here is my second project for iCraft Australia. I wanted to create something using the wonderful decoupage papers from iCraft. I decided to alter this little bucket that I have had sitting on my desk for a couple of years now. It has been home to paint brushes and other bits and bobs.

To start with I applied two coats of iCraft heavy gesso white. To match the colour in the flowers of the decoupage paper, I mixed together roman purple and radical raspberry iCraft chalk paints until I achieved my desired colour. I applied two coats of this colour over the top of the gesso, drying each layer in between. Using the chalk paint spearmint with a paint dabber I next applied one coat of this  over the top. Once it was all dry, I then set about with a cotton pad dipped in water and rubbed areas off exposing the colour underneath.
Next using the decoupage glue I applied my paper. I dry dabbed with the spearmint paint around the edges of the paper. This was done to help soften the edges and blend in more. To finish off I applied a good coat of decoupage varnish over the paper.

I hope this inspires you to create something wonderful and have a play with decoupage papers.

Until next time, happy scrapping.

Hugs Leanne x

Hi everyone, "Winter Beauty" is the title of my very first project for iCraft Australia. As it is winter here in Tasmania, our days are usually dark, grey and very cold. But when the sun comes out and shines, the colours  of winter to me are full of beauty and magical.

I found this photo on Pinterest that inspired me to create this Tag. But before I continue I want to give all the credit to the photographer A.M Lorek Photography.

To create my Tag, I firstly applied several coats of iCraft heavy gesso white. I then placed a piece of iCraft decoupage paper to one side using the iCraft decoupage glue. Using an iCraft layering stencil and iCraft modelling paste, I added some detail and texture to the other half. I then painted over this area using iCraft chalk paint Metallic Charcoal Black. To add some darker areas I mixed in some icraft heavy gesso black with the metallic charcoal black, always drying in between layers until I created the look I wanted.

To construct the Tag and to build a platform for my photo, I used icraft wooden embellishments. I painted some of these using icraft heavy gesso white and iCraft chalk paint sleigh bells. To give a more grunge effect on some of the wooden embellishments, I added iCraft Arty Balls small into my paint mixture before applying it to the embellishments.

To finish off my project, I added art stones painted with iCraft chalk paint Roman Purple, some arty balls  and made splatters with the white gesso diluted with water.

Hope this projects gives you some inspiration to have a play and create something wonderful.
Until next time, happy scrapping.
