Hi all, its been awhile but I am back with a LO I have created for this months Dusty Attic mood board challenge. The mood board with its colours and pictures is definitely anything that is beach themed. Here is the mood board for this month.

Just absoulutely beautiful. This photo is of my second son taken on a family holiday last summer. So here is my take on the mood board.

 

For this LO I have used 49 and market papers in the paradise collection. I did some stenciling using the fish net and river stones stencils. Then coloured over the top using lindy's sprays. The chippies were all altered using different mediums. Some just had gesso added while others were altered using embossing powder. The ships wheel had crackle paste added and once dried, I just rubbed in DA paint in Denim and Mountain Meadow. The star fish were also painted using DA paint in Bisque. The flowers used were all from 49 and Market. These all had some gessso added and some acryic paints here and there. I added in some shells from my collection and some were coloured using embossing powders, DA paints in Oceania, Bisque and Denim and also some inka gold and distress oxide ink in Broken China. The little seagul chippie was painted using DA Storm cloud and Bisque paints. To finish off my LO I added some Prima Art Stones. Here are some close ups.

Let it Snow

Hi everyone, I'm back with my second LO that I have done for this months Dust Attic challenge. As I said in my last post I just couldn't decide which one to enter so I have entered both. As soon as I saw the mood board both ideas came to me. It is so cold down here where I live in Tasmania. The mountains are covered in snow and the days are grey and bleak that I wanted to do a Winter LO.  As much as I don't like winter, I do find that it is very pretty. So to refresh everyone's memory here is the mood board for July.

The photo I have chosen to use is of my eldest son and his son Tylar when he was a baby. Geez cannot believe he will be six in a weeks time.  It is taken on top of a mountain near where we I live.

For this project I have used Maja design papers. For the background I did some stenciling using a snowflake stencil with translucent paste. I then went over the snowflakes using nuvo glitter drops white blizzard. The pine sprigs chippies were painted using acrylic paint forrest. For the snowman's body I used prima paper texture paste sprinkled with sparkling dust. The rest of the snowman was painted using acrylic paints. The icicle chippies were gessoed then painted using heavenly white H2o with  snowflake paste and glass glitter. The bird house  was dressed with crackle accents and inklingz chocolate and diamonds, liquid pearls were used for the little bird. The beautiful 49 and market flower centres were altered using pearls and prills ice queen.

Dare Devil

Hi everyone my LO today is for this months mood board challenge for The Dusty Attic. I was so inspired by this mood board I couldn't decide which one  to do so I have actually made two LOs for this months challenge.

 

For this project I have totally gone for an all out grungy boy LO. The photo I have used is of my second eldest son playing on is motor bike when he was younger.

 I have used 49 and markets captured  adventure papers, electric pieces  and faded memories and rooster row BS in the cottage life 6x6 collection. Prima graphite texture paste was added using a Dusty Attic checkerplate stencil. I then added more texture by  using another Dusty Attic stencil called crosshatch, this time I used  nuvo mousse black ash. I also did some stamping using Gabi's texture set. Most of the Dusty Attic chippies were treated with prima rust pastes in original, camouflage and military sets. Some were firstly painted with prima sparks raven black then randomly rubbed with prima waxes in bronze age, brushed iron and fire ruby. The metal cogs were simply treated with prima waxes in fire ruby and inka gold steelblue. This same blue was used on my title after firstly painting it using the raven black.

Hermie

Hello and welcome, today I am up on my blog to present to you a LO I have created to enter in this month's more than words challenge. http://morethanwordschallenge.blogspot.com/

When I saw this challenge with the word BEACH and SEASHELLS, I straight away thought of a trip to the beach my children and myself had when they were much younger. I am always inspired by the beach as it is my happy place. I just love the beach and many hours have been spent on long walks collecting shells and running along the sea shore getting our feet and clothes wet. On this particular day it was too cold to swim so we were paddling in the water when we came across a beautiful shell that to our surprise had a little hermit crab inside. The children and myself just fell in love with this little fella, so we named him Hermie.  He was the most sociable little guy and did he put on a show for us.

We spent what seemed like hours just watching him and loving him. To our surprise we came across several more but they were not our Hermie. After much disappointment and whining from my kids as you can guess they wanted to keep him. We finally put him back into the ocean where he belonged but not before I took copious amounts of pictures of him. So when I saw that the creative challenge was to add SEASHELLS to our design I thought of Hermie with his beautiful shell, the fun we had and beautiful memories we made with him.

For this project I have used a variety of gorgeous 49 and market flowers. I have used sea shells and other bits that I have collected on many beach walks. The little star fishes were from my stash that were given to me by a friend. For my back ground I did some stenciling using a kaisercraft stencil called birch with some granite paste cecilia gold. I also used Lindy's magical shaker in Frozen jack frost and some paper texture paste around my photo and where my flowers would go. To finish off I added art stones medium and mini and Stampendous fragments chiffon and powder blue.

Love is......

Hi everyone and welcome. Today I have created a LO for this months Dusty Attic mood board challenge. The mood board for June is absolutely exquisite, just divine don't you think?

I have used lots of elements from the mood board such as the lace, doillies, thread, sewing, scissors, most of the magical colours, and the wonderful saying (title). The photo is of my eldest son and his wife on their wedding day.

49 and market papers were used for my Lo, which I have machine sewn around some of them. I also did some hand sewing around my title. The 49 and market flowers I used were altered in the centres with mini pearls prills, ice resin glitter shards sterling and pebble rock glass crystal clear. I have dressed the DA chippies in different mediums, the leafy flourish was firstly gessoed, crackle accents applied and once dried I then embossed it using mirror platinum. The medallions which I cut in half were painted with clear gesso with rusting powder applied with white vinegar, once dried I randomly applied inka gold platinum, and prima waxes. The vintage frame was dressed with liquid pearls platinum pearl then wiped over using metalic gliding paste pearl lustre. I dressed the fancy flourish with cosmic shimmer granite paste called gran pearla, I just loved how these turned out and lastly the little black word tag was simply wiped over with some waxes and inka gold. I also did a little stenciling using shimmerz paste-eez which I heat set then rubbed over using the gliding paste. Some lace was coloured  using inklings thunder storm and to finish off I have placed a doily under the photo and scissors from my stash.
